Laurie lives and maintains her studio in the Taos Canyon. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and a secondary teaching degree in Art Education from Loretto Heights College in Denver. Laurie has studied art in Europe and has written 18 volumes of art survey. She has taught 4th and 5th grade art in the Taos public schools.

Laurie's oils and watercolors capture the emotional and visual aspects of Northern New mexico. Her unique application of high keyed colors has been recognized. Her art can be found in several major corporate and private collections.
