Juan Sandoval is listed as 1 of the top 150 pottery sculpture artist in the United States, by the Schiffer "Book for Collectors" titled "Storytellers and Other Figurative Pottery" by Douglas Congdon Martin, 1995. Juan Sandoval, whose art career spans several decades, has never lost a single passionate stride in reaching for the ring of excellence.

With his erect stature, silver hair and dancing eyes, Juan exudes a quintessence of the Southwest. His birth was in a small village of Dixon, NM. His grandmother, the last practicing member in a Sephardic family, raised him as a youngster. Juan did not know of his Jewish heritage until adulthood. Turning to his art, Sandoval says, "They are simple pieces...innocent. They make you smile.

Nowadays that means a lot to people." Juan Sandoval's art can be found in the Folk Art Exhibit of the Smithsonian, the Vatican, the Northern Museum of Art, Flagstaff, AZ, the International Folk Art Museum, Santa Fe, NM, the Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ, and Bryans Gallery, Taos, NM
