Gary J. Custer

Gary J. Custer was born and raised on the Navajo Nation in Ft. Defiance, Arizona, near Gallup, New Mexico.   He inherited  the silversmithing craft from his parents who were silversmiths known for their traditional sandcast work.  His work combines both contemporary and traditional designs in tufa cast and stamp work.  Gary is has won awards for his pieces at SWAIA Indian Market, Santa Fe, New Mexico; The Heard Museum Guild Fair, Phoenix, AZ; and, Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Fair, New Mexico.  His work is highly sought after by collectors.
