Tita Heaton, Heaton Artworks

Tita Heaton is a 2nd generation jeweler who opened her first jewelry store at age 18 and had a gallery, Heaton Artworks, on the Historic Plaza in Taos, New Mexico for over a decade. She also served as the President of the Taos Jewelers Guild, and is a current member of the Creative Metal Arts Guild.  She learned the art of jewelry making from her mother, master jeweler, Sammy Tate Heaton. Tita's creations have won  multiple awards in the Taos Fall Arts Invitational shows. Her work has also garnered  awards from the Oregon State Jewelers OSJA Design Competition and the Pacific Northwest Jewelry Association. Tita moved Heaton Artworks from New Mexico to Oregon in the late 1990s.
