Charlie John

Charlie John is a master of overlay combined with stamp work, often set with gem grade natural turquoise. Active since the 1980s, Charlie creates his own stamps, which gives work a distinctive look.Charlie’s father’s uncle was William Singer, brother of the famed Tommy singer, who Charlie credits with teaching him silversmithing.  Charlie  started his apprenticeship at age 14. In 1972 William Singer started a shop near Charlie’s boarding school, where Charlie got his start learning the craft and eventually selling his own pieces.
